George Hullenbaugh

Just got into oil painting a few months ago. Right now I enjoy painting portraits and painting in different hues of red. For the past few months I have been obsessed with the different styles of layering a thinning oil. Oil is definitely a different beast. Looking to hang a few of my painting up rather than store them a top my secretaries. A bad habit I have is between waiting for oils to dry I start a new painting. Constantly there is a circle of paintings in rotation. My favorite artist is Michael Hussar. His oil paintings are fa-nominal.

Lauren Nygard

Honoring the tradition of Dia de los Muertos, these images reach into the celebration of families gathering to pray for and remember those who have passed on. The spiritual journey of those in eternal rest is dignified with the beauty of the women posing as la Catrina.

Collaborating with other artists to create these Dia de los Muertos images was such an honor. Working together, we were able to come up with different looks for each model--who were able to express their visions through the images captured.

I collect stone on Oceanside beaches and hand shape, grind, sand and polish surfboard pendants and miniatures. I also use the polished stones to make wire pendants and necklaces etc,

My theme is "The Hidden Beauty of Southern California" It is all inspired by local lifestyles as I have been a resident of Oceanside for at lest 12 years.

Robert Berry

Rob Berry was born at Tripler Air Force Hospital on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. His father- ret. Commander Roy Berry (USN) retired when Rob was aged 2, and moved the family to San Diego. As a military officer, Robs father did not support his creative endeavors and actually sent Rob to a psychologist to have him "cured". Rob, however, persevered and has a degree in Environmental Design with a minor in English. Rob usually pays the bills by working for all types of engineers, architects and has even worked in the aerospace industry. Rob is currently 45, separated and living his dream. He currently resides in North County with his 2 children.

Creating fantastic works of art for my clients since 1970.

Allissa Thompson

Ansel Adams said, “You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” As much as I love capturing beauty through the lens, it is the power of a photo to evoke feelings, share stories, and connect with people that is most meaningful to me. They say a picture is worth a thousand words; that's exactly what you'll get if you stop to chat with me about a photo. I love sharing the stories behind my photos and am truly honored when people ask about or enjoy them!

I was born and raised on a farm in Orange County, New York, but have called Oceanside home for the last five years. My creative passion was kindled long ago by a high school photography class, where I was educated in the fundamentals of lighting and composition, yet I subdued my artistic voice for years in favor of academic and athletic pursuits at Duke University. Returning to my artistic roots has given me wings along with insatiable wanderlust; my love of travel has taken me from the jungles of Thailand to the Australian Outback and the Great Wall of China. I still find endless beauty right here in Oceanside, and love the thrill of chasing my next shot. As a member of Carlsbad Oceanside Art League (COAL) and Oceanside Museum of Art's Artist Alliance, I enjoy sharing my work while learning from the many talented artists in our community.

Dana Diane Patterson

I enjoy capturing not only the astonishingly beautiful physical world we inhabit, but digitally editing those images to share the mood that drew me to the scene. I love the color, movement, contrast, and fantasy elements of ordinary objects and telling a story with my artwork.

My childhood memories involve making a camera out of a shoebox and black electrical tape, wondering what my dad was up to in his closet darkroom, and driving into the desert at all hours of the morning or night to take photographs. I started taking digital photographs as references for all the paintings I wanted to make. I would never be able to paint them all or ever perfect my technique enough to do it, but thought I would share some of these images with everyone.

Cory Whitlock

I am always looking to find ways to share my love of surfing and surfboard making. My father Rusty Whitlock has been a professional surfboard shaper since 1963. He taught me how to surf and I went on to have a professional surfing career in the 90's. My younger brother Ricky has also had a professional surfing career and is now moving toward big wave surfing. In 1997 to further spread our family's love of surfing we started "The Whitlock Surf Experience" a surfing school that is dedicated to bringing our love of surfing to as many people as possible. Every year we teach hundreds of families how to surf and show them the art of surfboard making.

Firelight Ladies

Amalia is originally from Chicago,IL and moved to beautiful Oceanside one year ago. Amalia brought with her a deep passion for flow art which is a type of interpretive dance using various props and dancing styles. It all started at a young age when she participated in many different forms of dance and baton twirling. Amalia got her hands on some fire poi when she was 18. After being active in the Chicago music scene she evolved into a fire performer by the time she was 21. Unlike many physical arts, learning flow arts (poi, fans, hoops) does not usually involve formal education. A strong sense of community and self-teaching are key elements of modern flow art. She found herself performing for music festivals and clubs in Chicago along the way she keeps adding to her list of props to dance with. Fire is the passion element and Amalia has a passion for dancing with fire. Being new to Southern California she is determined to start a fire flow performing group. She's currently reaching out to the San Diego flow community looking for others to perform with. During the the day you can find Amalia working at Apotheque spa where she does hair and teaches a fitness Hula-Hoop class in the spring and summer.

Krista Timberlake

I hail from Western Massachusetts, where I grew up in a family and community of artists and craftspeople & developed my love of nature & the outdoors. After attending UVM for premed & Savannah College of Art & Design, I earned my BFA from UMASS, Amherst. Bicycling for 25+ years has created a love and addiction that have contributed many ideas and themes to my art. As an avid cyclist, yogini, hiker, weightlifter, fitness enthusiast & former premed student, I have a great appreciation for the body as a machine. As a general outdoorswoman & lover of nature, I have always been drawn to depict animals in addition to people, especially in a whimsical manner. Artistically, I have always found beauty in well-crafted machinery, as well as in the human figure & most living things found in nature. In creating mechanical & more naturalistic pieces, I am intrigued by line, texture and color, and am most drawn to using watercolor as it is unpredictable. The most interesting things happen in my work when “mistakes” occur- unplanned reactions that I will never be able to duplicate. I currently live in Vista, work as a graphic designer at The Upper Deck Company & freelance as a graphic & web designer and fine artist.

I work at Biggs Harley-Davidson in San Marcos CA. I painted this piece simply named Semper Fi. Everyday we serve our Military Men and Women here at Biggs and every weekend they come in from there day of motorcycle riding and we serve them food, My family are very Military proud and it makes me feel good to see and serve these guys and girls, Basically because they get to see and do things us "normal" citizens do not, possibly even wouldn't/couldn't do. 2'x4' Acrylic on Wood panel. So I will be painting more Military related pieces in the Future.

The Center for the Arts at TERI, Inc

The Center for the Arts at TERI, Inc in Oceanside CA opened its studio doors in 2007. The Art Studios provide a space for artists with autism and other developmental disabilities to collaborate, experiment with sensation, personal expression and to connect to you, as audience. The work is expressive and often collaborative; thus giving the opportunity of participation to people of diverse abilities. The greater body of work is in acrylics on various platforms, but includes creation in collage, mosaic, and mixed media.

Myles McGuinness

He’s a waterman and cameraman, can communicate verbally and visually, and manages brand strategy as well as he does typography. He is a Creative Director whose intuition and experience allow him to break from the script but stay exactly on-strategy. A fine artist backed with facts. And a shooter whose precision focus coexists with a broad depth of field. Instead of dictating, he integrates, shifting roles to fit the project, crew, client and shot at hand. Everything else just gets in the way of the idea.

He follows a basic principle: always go the extra mile.
