Next Step for Oceanside Art Walk

On Sept 1, the current Oceanside Art Walk team asked the Oceanside Art Community for a new home for First Friday: Oceanside Art Walk. A number of organizations stepped forward and the board had a very difficult decision, with all candidates presenting strong elements. Our major considerations were organizational capacity, long term commitment, financial planning, community engagement and vision for an ongoing vibrant event. We are thrilled to announce that The Oceanside Friends of the Arts was chosen to take the Oceanside Art Walk to the next level starting in 2017!

Led by Susan Brown and Ruth Jameson, The Oceanside Friends of the Arts seeks to enhance, encourage and support arts related activities for Oceanside communities, and to further the future of all Cultural Arts of the many diverse communities of the region.

he event will transition from a monthly one-night event to a quarterly two-day Four Seasons Art Walk. It will continue to involve our amazing partners in the community, with visual art, music, performances and interactive projects free to the public.

In addition, there will be a number of special events and fundraisers throughout the year. Stay tuned for more details regarding the expanded scope!
